☆先週の説教から☆
「ポンテオ・ピラトのもとに苦しみを受け」という告白は、私たちの信仰の根幹をなすものである。ローマの総督ポンテオ・ピラトは、主イエスに何の罪も見出せなかった。しかし、彼は主イエスを鞭打ち、兵士たちに虐待させ、裁判の席に引き出し、そして最終的に十字架刑にする判決を出すのである。ピラトは何度も主イエスを釈放しようとした。しかし主イエスを訴えたユダヤ人（大祭司、祭司長たち）はピラトの説得に応じることはなかった。彼らは主イエスを「律法に違反した」としていたからである。しかし、神との契約である律法に違反したのであれば、自分たちで裁くべきであるが、彼らはあえて自分たちの手を汚すことをせず、ローマ帝国の権力を利用したのである。ユダヤ人の心の中にある醜さは、「キリストを自分の主として受け入れない」という醜さである。私たちもこのユダヤ人指導者たちと同じ「醜さ」を持っている。自分を否定されることを好まず、神様の前に自分を立たせようとしない。「自己正当化」、「自己保身」を繰り返して生きている。そして救い主の力を借りずに自分の力で自分の思うように生きようとする。それが私たちの姿ではないだろうか。主イエス・キリストはそのような私たちの醜さを受け止められる。私たちの情けなさををも受け止めてくださる。主イエス・キリストの苦しみは人間の罪を贖うためのものであるが、それは私たち人間がもたらしたのではなく、神様の大きな愛によってもたらされたものである。神様は異邦人の為政者をも用いて救いを実現される。
